What?

It's a critical analysis of advertising trends and how they affect, reflect, and deflect the ways we think about ourselves and the world around us. Mostly we talk about television commercials, holding to the belief that commercials are entertainment, entertainment commercials, and both together an integral part of contemporary culture.

Why Moxie?

Moxie is the first soft drink to be mass-marketed in the United States. Due largely to its advertising, it was the most popular beverage in America in the first half of the 20th Century before being eclipsed by Coca-Cola. Some consider it one of the more foul-tasting soft drinks available, but it still has its fans (including us) and is rumored to be making a comeback in some markets. Moxie advertising merchandise is treasured by antique collectors the world over.
