Hi everyone. I just wanted to take a moment to report some news. Actually this is a week old, but it was just brought to my attention now and I think it's something we should reflect on.
House Peters Jr., 92, the Actor Who Gave Heft to Mr. Clean, Dies (New York Times)
How many bit-role character actors get this kind of attention at their passing? I can only hope that my obituary will have a line half as cool as, "... he is best remembered as Mr. Clean, a muscular man with a no-nonsense attitude toward dirt and grime."
He will be greatly missed.
And just for the heck of it, let's compare an old Mr. Clean commercial with a new one. Oddly, neither actually features House Peters, Jr. Provide your own analysis.

well, what jumps out at me first (in the 2 Mr. Clean ads) is that in the first one there is always a decent amount of space between Mr. Clean and Housewife. In the modern commercial, Mr. Clean is practically up in Housewife's arse. But, thankfully the family is around to make sure nothing naughty happens. Conclusion: housewives of today are more likely to give into their male help fantasies (and thus need constant supervision) than housewives of yesteryear (who knew the proper space to leave between herself and non-husband men).
